Help for the person who suddenly has to say something
Someone asks you to officiate. A friend's mother dies and you have to write the card. Your church wants to honor its pastor. pastor.care is for that moment.
What we do
Our promise is short: Know what to say, pray and do — today. Every page starts with something you can use right away, such as a message you can copy, a prayer you can read aloud, a program you can print, or a draft you can edit. The explanation comes after.
We write in plain, warm language. We label every prayer by tradition (Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, or any Christian tradition) so you can choose one that fits your family or congregation. We quote public-domain Bible translations and name them. We don't use churchy filler, and we don't sell with pressure. Pages for grieving people stay free.
Who it's for
- Lay helpers asked to officiate a wedding, speak at a funeral or visit someone in the hospital.
- Grieving friends and family writing a card, planning a service or giving a eulogy.
- Congregants who want to honor their pastor.
- Pastors and care teams who want good starting points for funerals, visits and follow-up.
Who runs it
Pastor.Care is a project of NewCulture Consulting, LLC, based in North Carolina. Jon Horton is the founder and editor. Jon has spent 20+ years building church and ministry platforms and edits pastor.care. Jon is not clergy. The editor's job is to make the practical things clear and to bring in pastors who sign off on the pastoral parts. The aim is for every page to be useful on the worst day of someone's year.
How pastor review works
Funeral, sermon and pastoral pages are reviewed by a named pastor before they carry a reviewer's name. Until a page has been reviewed, it says so. Reviewers check that prayers are labeled correctly, that the practical steps match what churches actually do, and that nothing sounds careless to someone who is hurting. You can read how it works, and see who has signed on, on the reviewers page.
How the writing tools work
The Eulogy Writer and the Officiant Script Builder ask you questions, then use an AI model (Claude, from Anthropic) to turn your answers into a draft. The draft is a starting point. Read it aloud, change it, and make it yours before anyone else hears it. We don't store your answers or your drafts on our servers, and they are not used to train AI models. Details are in the privacy policy.
