Pastors read what matters before you do
Funeral, sermon and pastoral pages carry the name of a pastor who has reviewed them. Here is what that means, and who they are.
The review process
- We write the page with a clear purpose: the words, rite or checklist someone needs this week.
- A pastor reads it for pastoral tone, accuracy and fit with how churches actually work. Prayers are checked against the tradition they are labeled with.
- We change what they flag. The reviewer's name goes on the page only after they are satisfied with it.
- We re-review at least once a year, and sooner if a reader or reviewer reports a problem.
Reviewers are asked for judgment, not for endorsement of every sentence. A review is not a promise that every church will do things this way, and it is not legal advice. Where rules differ by state, such as wedding officiants, we link the official source.
A reviewer's name appears on a page only once they have read it. We never borrow a name.
