For a parent who is sick

God, my mother (or father) took care of me for years, and now the roles are turning. It is strange and sad to see someone so strong need so much help.

Be gentle with them. Give them back as much strength as can be given, and give them dignity in whatever can't be. Make me patient at the bedside and honest in my words. Let us say the things we haven't said.

Thank you for every year they have given me. Keep them in your care. Amen.
