For a friend facing surgery

Father, my friend goes in for surgery soon. Steady their heart tonight, and give them sleep. Guide the surgeon's hands tomorrow, and bring them safely through. In the recovery, be gentle. Give them patience, comfort and good company.

I will be waiting and praying, so let them know they are not alone. Amen.
