For healing, and for peace if healing is slow

Lord, I ask you plainly: heal. Heal this body, and do it soon. You are able, and you invite us to ask.

But you also know I can't see the whole road. If healing comes slowly, or comes in a way I didn't expect, then give me what I need for each day as it comes. Give me patience that isn't pretending. Give me honest prayers on the days I'm angry. Give me people who will sit with me and not hurry me along.

I don't understand everything, and I'm not asked to. I'm asked to trust the one who holds me. So I do, as well as I can today. Hold what I can't. Amen.
