A prayer with the laying on of hands
Lord Jesus Christ, we come to you as your people. Your word says that when someone is sick, they should call for the elders of the church to pray over them. So we have gathered, and we lay our hands on our brother (or sister) in your name.
You are the one who heals. We are only the ones who ask. We ask for healing of body, for peace of mind, and for forgiveness where it is needed. Let your Spirit fill this room and rest on the one we love.
Raise them up, Lord, in your time and your way. And whatever the next days hold, let them know they are held by you and by this community.
We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
In the spirit of James 5:14–15
