The night before surgery

Lord, tomorrow morning I will be wheeled down a hall I have never walked. Tonight I'm scared, and I don't want to hide that from you.

Steady my heart. Let me sleep. Give my surgeon a clear mind and steady hands, give the anesthesiologist care, and give every person in that room their best day of work. Keep me safe while I'm out of my own hands.

Whatever happens, I am yours. When I wake up, let the first thing I know be that you were there the whole time. Amen.
