Waiting for test results

Father, the waiting is the hardest part. Every ring of the phone makes my heart jump, and my mind runs to the worst.

Slow me down. Let me do the next small thing — eat, walk, breathe — and leave the results in your hands. Whatever the news is, let me hear it knowing you are already there.

Be the peace I can't make for myself. Amen.
